End of Life for dslrBooth 6 for Windows and dslrBooth for Mac

We want to take a moment to inform our valued customers that dslrBooth for Windows v6 and dslrBooth for Mac have officially reached their end of life.

These versions was discontinued in June 2023 with the launch of dslrBooth v7 for Windows and LumaBooth for Mac, and as of March 31, 2025, certain features will no longer be supported.

What This Means for You

If you are still using dslrBooth v6 or dslrBooth for Mac, the following features will no longer function:

• Uploads – Online uploads to fotoShare Cloud or social media platforms.
• Email Sharing – The ability send photo/videos by email.
• QR Codes – QR code generation and scanning for photo/video.
• SMS Sharing – The ability to send photo links via SMS.

Capture, processing, and printing without sharing will continue to work.

Additionally, renewal licenses for dslrBooth have not been offered since June 2023. These renewal licenses were required to maintain cloud functionality, which is no longer supported.

Why Is This Happening?

Each time you upload a photo or send an SMS, we incur direct costs from third-party services. These costs continue to increase, and many of these services have updated their APIs, making them incompatible with v6’s architecture. Maintaining these connections is no longer financially sustainable for older versions.

It’s important to note that cloud-based features have always required an annual renewal license to cover these ongoing costs, as stated in our terms since the beginning.

We’ve worked hard to keep v6 cloud features operational for nearly two years after the release of v7. This wasn’t a sudden decision but one we’ve delayed as long as financially possible.

Upgrade to the Latest Version

We’re proud that dslrBooth and LumaBooth are constantly updated and maintained, with new features added regularly. This commitment to innovation and quality is why we’ve been able to lead the industry and provide you with the best tools for your business.

To ensure you have access to the latest features, security updates, and customer support, we highly recommend upgrading to the latest version of dslrBooth for Windows or LumaBooth for Mac. Our most recent versions offer enhanced performance, AI background removal, support for vertical videos, fully customizable screens, GoPro support (Windows), Sony camera support, Canon/Nikon mirrorless camera support, and new sharing options.
